I am planning a trip to California. Boone isn’t going with me this time as there is as much dirt road going south as north, so Fen will accompany me. He’s been much more attentive to me lately, when Boone isn’t around to discourage him. There are several things he can’t help me with because of his size, but there’s a lot he can’t help do.
I will make Boone’s vet appt when we get back.
I took Boone on a short little trip on dirt road to start trying to desensitize him. We got about a mile before he panicked. I stopped whenever he was scared, waited for him to settle then started again. It was sort and f getting his permission to drive. He handled the dirt driveway inro the ranch to front of the house really well. I’ll keep doing this whenever I can. Leaving him home might helps him realize what avoiding the dirt road means, and maybe not. Anyway praying his safe without me here. It’s the best I can do.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I question going.
A granddaughter wants my stained glass equipment so asks me to bring it to her, but should it bother me she’s never considered coming here to get it?

When I was younger, if my mom wanted to see the kids, I had to drive 4-6 hours to take them to her. Now if I want ro see family, I drive 13-15 hr to see them.
This, if I go, will likely be the last trip I make down there, which means the last time I will ever see them, because no one is ever going to bother coming here. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

100% and more agree. Does she already do stained glass on her own?
No. I dragged all my equipment down once and showed her how Now she’s collected a lot of sea glass and wants to make something

The truth is, no one is ever going to come. If I want to see any of my family, I have to make the trip and catch them between everything. They will be at work, or school or dance/gym/boxing/etc. I don’t fit very well into anyone’s life, I’m afraid Just as well as ai am not likely to hold their interest long. .

No one comes to visit me, either. I invited Ron's sisters to a planned Celebration of Life service, but they declined, said I could come to Connecticut to visit them, though.

I only live 1 1/2 hours from my sister. I bought this place 3 years ago on July 7, 2022. I was so proud of my farm, invited her to come see me. Again and again, she has never come. I quit saying anything about coming to see me. I go see her. Some day I’m liable to break in half on her and tell her that my dirt road isn’t good enough for her. I live in a double wide and that isn’t good enough for her. And while we’re on the subject, I’m not good enough for her either. And I don’t give a damn if she ever darkens my doorway.
That’s just the facts.
