It’s good stuff and pretty darn quick for a yeast bread
I put an ad on craigslist for pig-(free) and a guy says he’s willing to come get him. The poor thing has had a miserable life of neglect. Bad feet, a tooth rubbing…even if the guy slaughters him it will be a kindness. My understanding is that pigs are social and he has been neglected and alone since he came 6 years ago. I’m happy for him and glad he’s off our feedbill. The ducks are supposed to become responsibility of the ranch guys as they were foisted on us as well. So now I just need a home for rabbits and all we will have left is Mister, the chickens and Randy’s 40 feral cats.
Pain has been pretty disabling lately. Can’t use my hands so all I can do is read and move from bed to recliner and back. I deleted all social media as I found myself becoming enraged at how people treat others and the inconceivable cruelty towards victims like Charley’s wife. I fired back at some whiny liberal who then reported me and got me deplatformed

Yeah, I don’t need to hear the ugliness out there. I have enough anxiety worrying about my son, whose life has been wrenched from him leaving him homeless, jobless, without retirement or a future. 28 years and he was just tossed aside. It might hurt me more than him as I can hardly breathe thinking about it so I don’t contact him. I miss his weekly texts he always sent.
This was the last one he sent me.

Made bacon avocado sandwiches for dinner with french fries. I have an old antique ff cutter that works awesome but I don’t make them very often cuz it’s a pain, However they were so good last night Randy suggested a dedicated fryer. I cut them, simmered 10 min in a pot with salted water and a splash of vinegar Took em out with slotted spoon and set on pan covered with tea towel to dry (they dry without patting down cuz of heat from simmer)
After that he fried them in tallow and they were better than any we have had at fast food or restaurant. I could do everything by t fry them earlier in the day to save time. Could even “pre fry” and just toss in for a count le minutes to finish using up. Anyway, they were tasty. Next time I will try different seasonings

They sound delicious, especially fried in beef tallow. Yummy.

Boone and Gizmo enjoyed rabbit feets this morning. It’s the last since I hipe to get rid of the rabbits. I haven’t heard back from pig man which is disappointing as I was hiping he’d be gone.
Late last night, the cowboy across the way knocked to tell us that ducks were out front. Mind you, these are the ducks his mom bought, then foisted on US. I suggested that his dog that bit me, and now bit Randy’s bro could have the ducks but instead he got dressed and herded them back to our place with the rest of the ducks and the pig they foisted on us. I told him they will NOT buy more animals then dump them on us to pay for and be responsible for, but I doubt it will make a difference.

Hoping for a minimum pain day so I can get things done. So far its not too bad and its pretty out

Doing french fires tonight as well. But you put a ton more effort into than I do. I just slice up the potato, drop it in a ziploc with olive oil then bake at 400 for some minutes. Yours have got to be truly gourmet !!

Best French fries ever was a Red Lobster, they ran a special. I don't even remember what the special was, but I remember those French fries. They baked the potatoes, then cut and fried them. So crunchy! They were the best!

Pig is on his way to a new home. The guy has 6 kids and poor, neglected pig is going to be in porky heaven. I’m glad for him, as he’s been unhappy since the day he came here, with no friends and no attention. This is the best thing that could happen to him! Yay pig!!

Madame Giz chose to sleep on my lap all night so I never made it to bed. Every time I would try to change my position she would re-drape herself across me. I don’t mind so much except her talons are wicked and I can’t get them trimmed. We even bought a sling and Randy welded a bar to suspend her from, but we were unable to hold her foot still as she twisted, snapped and snarled. I don’t think she likes her feet handled.

Most dogs hate getting their nails trimmed. I had to dope one of my dogs before trimming, until we had a Come-to-Jesus meeting, and then she submitted, though occasionally taking my wrist in her mouth.

I was using a dremel. She is soo much worse than Boone ever was
