It’s been a VERY productive day, only 4 days after the horrendous surgery. I’m doing so well!! Still in pain killers but not as often, nor as urgent as before. I especially notice that I’m no longer hunched over and am walking pretty straight, though I rely on Boone to keep me from falling and especially if I feel my back or legs begin to get fatigued. I cleaned up the kitchen (Randy is cooking as the night I fixed dinner it results set me back) I’ve maxe 2 loaves of Jalapeno/Cheddar SD that are baking right now. I cleaned out the refrigerator, swept puppy glitter out of the bathroom & bedroom.
I did a little sewing on a dress I am making for the little 8 mo old cowgirl across the way, which is going to take some time as it’s been awhile and there are a LOT of gathers!!
I watered the plants in the raised troughs out back in the kitchen garden, picked up puppy deposits and spent my recovery time training Gizmo and playing games with her.
I put a leash on Gizmo and she and Boone and I took a great big stale loaf of bread out to the pasture and I walked down through both of Mister’s big, long pastures and put them on the far side of the fence to the birds. (I haven’t walked that far in awhile!)I even put a little shiny fake pearl on top of the post for a crow should one happen by.
Mister shadowed us all the way down the fence line then he did a big pop-up in the air like a colt and galloped back to his three sided shelter. He is feeling froggy!!
I put the dogs back in the yard. I went to visit with Mister, give him some peppermint candy, some skritches, and got fly spray on his back because they’re coming to bother him.
When I called for help, Boone came charging back to me and heeled perfectly while I held onto his scarf for balance , to safely bring me back to the house. I am so lucky to have him.
I think I can continue to expect improvement over the next couple of weeks. There are still 2 vertebrae in my lower back that need to be done, I just don’t know if I have the courage after my experience Monday.
This is what they did:
They have to enter the bone in your spine and locate that specific nerve bundle, then destroy it. Fortunately, this nerve cannot grow back so the results are permanent
