How heavy is that fleece?

He must be bouncy with the huge weight difference.

Does it look like all of his lambs will shed? Or not?
It looks heavier than it is. I guess about 5lbs. He was a little clumsy for a couple of days, adjusting to his fleeceless state. Most of his lambs don’t look like they will shed and none will shed completely. I expected that and we will clipper, sell or freezer camp. All the ram lambs and one of the ewes have either Racka horns or Racka influenced horns. Thinking of putting them on Craigs or contacting the breed clubs.

Ram lambs 7 months old. Racka horn shape and rapid growth. Number 3 pic might be a ewe. Racka ewes have smaller horns that are v shaped while the ram’s horns tend to grow more horizontally. Pic number 4 an eight day old Racka boy with buds starting. To his upper right is a Racka ewe with the v shape. Looks like I’m going to have plenty of fleece for “souvenirs “

Was the Racka a breed you wanted for horn, fiber, growth rate, or all ?😁. We all have a vision.

My Boer are obviously meat breed but, since I have full size dairy -- the cross gives me a better market kid than full dairy. I'm sure you had a goal, too. No sheep here, so curious for knowledge.

I’m trying for novel horn shape on a hair sheep. It will take time as I’m facing some fearsome fiber genetics. But so far so good. I wonder about breeding my Racka ewes to a couple of black and white Painted Desert rams. Below- Hellloo ladies. Racka ewe on right is walking with her mother. You’d think she’d have gotten some spots.

What a difference. The facial markings can change. Pics 2 and 3 are of the lamb on the right in pic 1.
