Anyone missing a rooster?

I'm wondering if someone dumped him.

Update on the Naked neck.

He disappeared, and I felt bad that he might have been killed. But this afternoon as I was in my backyard I saw movement in my backyard neighbor's property, the homeowner himself. Yes, it was his rooster, and it found its way home, is back in the run safe.

Happy ending.

That's good news. At least now you know where he belongs, should he show up again!

A silkie crossed with a naked neck results in a show girl. Cuter than cute.

I'm going to disagree on "cute", but I don't like silkies to start with

I'm not big on silkies... but I do like the "painted" ones that are sorta splash but not evenly colored... Have no desire to own any.... I think NN - ie Turkens _ are so ugly that they are sorta cute... have no desire to have any of them. And I think the naked neck silkies are just overall not attractive...
Frizzles are a neat looking anomaly, but I am not a big fan of them either...

BUT... that is why there are so many breeds of chickens... a breed/type/feather that appeals to just about anything you can want...
Now feathered legs I like on the Langshans... feathered down the outside toe... Cochins and other breeds that have feathers on all the toes are pretty if the chicken is perfectly clean and such... the feathers get pretty bedraggled in the mud and stuff. How many of us have the perfect pens for the perfect conditions to have the perfect poultry:hide:hide:hide:hide

Clean legged birds just look "neater" .... and definitely easier to keep cleaner and take care of...

I'll chime in - NN - not a fan just too ugly for me (raised hairless mice in Jr High, enough is enough 🙃). While I've never owned a Silkie or a Frizzle I wouldn't mind having them to give them a try. Feathered feet I LOVE. I had Cochins and they were always nice birds - of course we don't have mud because we hardly get rain.
As for the What do you get mix - I wouldn't want or try - but a NN x Polish --- an aged Elvis!!

A friend gave us 3 Silkies, gave the hen to a friend's son who really wanted one. That little guy loved his chickens. I couldn't stand the 2 roosters, one was dumber than a box of rocks and the other was an opportunistic breeder, he would wait and then knock the other roosters off of the hens and have his turn, poor girls. None of the hens would let him. We sent them both to freezer camp. NN's just need someone to love them... :gig

Clean legs work better for my free range, in grass! Prob same with others...dew, wet grass 😵‍💫 I adore seeing the show birds AT shows, just that. Mine are here for purpose -- clean up bugs & dropped feed, eggs, meat on occasion. Because of their purpose, I usually go with the heavy heirloom breeds. Orps & BRocks are favored. But, I like colored eggs, so there's always a few EEs & legbars around. Adds to nice bird colors in the flock, too. Plus many are broodies. No rain in CA makes for clean eggs.
