Caleb has been walked, breakfast finished, coffee at hand. I'm not going to church, as my feet and ankles were spasming most of the night. I had to apply DMSO every hour or so to get relief.

I can't take off my shoes in the middle of the service to do that, so...
;)

Bumpy weather later today and tomorrow. High winds from the south, then west then north. Thunderstorms and more wind then a fifty degree temperature drop. Probably lose my peaches and pear tree is blooming but too small to be allowed to develop fruit. I feel sorry for our local growers, smudge pots aren’t going to help in these winds. Hubbs still sick. I’m fending it off but lots of chest congestion. Almost feels like Mr. 19. I snapped at him this am because he asked a ridiculous question about rat traps I can’t possibly reach to monitor in the attic. He did it while I was filling five dog bowls, warming the lamb’s bottle, evaluating a dinner menu in case I’m sick and listening to the weather radio. “Why am I so cranky? Because I Don’t have a wife!” I have to remember that for a few days after he visits his mom he has a case of “Put Another Log On the Fire”. Ordinarily I laugh it off but today- nope. Time to batten down the hatches.

Got back yesterday afternoon from my little trip. It was fun to get away and do "big town things".
It's chilly here this morning, 9 with a high of 25. But the forecast looks like spring is coming. And the storm that hit the rest of the state, only left us with a dusting.
Sunday rest day today. Church, then nap, cook, and laundry. I start coaching again this week after work, it was nice being able to go to the post office after work when needed, but I'll make things work.

I’m saddened that so many people have had to change their habits to stay safe. It stinks and it’s a symptom. For myself I refuse to have anyone here unless Hubbs is here. For anyone who missed the story there was an incident with a delivery man who went scary axxhole. I got to safety but Always Trust Your Instincts. And it’s better to apologize for a misunderstanding than to be lunch for a monster. So many businesses subcontract deliveries to GOKs (God only knows). Again a symptom. Yikes what a bummer post. Just stay alert and safe.
Everyone keeps telling me that on edge 100% untrusting attitude will go away after being at our new home for a bit. I hope it will at least lighten a bit but it's been so long now since the awful changes happened here I don't know how that could possibly get better. I barely remember the days of some trust and not feeling on edge at every turn. I 100% agree on trusting your instincts. I've had some close calls over the years here and each one I had a feeling first and it saved me. Thanks for the (explanation) of GOK. I would have never figured it out. 😂
I'm definitely stealing that line!
I was thinking the same thing!

Good afternoon all! :frow
First tornado warning at home today since we've owned the place. That was wild. Watched the cameras. I've never seen clouds move like that. First one direction then just shift and start moving another direction. Very dark clouds. If not for the danger part it was really beautiful. It hailed for a minute too. Some bigger hail. Nothing I've ever seen in size in CA before. Enough of the smaller stuff to make the house roof white. Still got a lot of learning to do. We're back in a watch again for another couple hours. Tonight our dear friends in KY are in a more dangerous path. Will be watching their area really close tonight.
Treating the two newest graft calves. Of course they are scouring. The tiny one is the one had is scouring pretty bad and doesn't feel good. The other seems uneffected but has a little looser than I'd like. Really hoping to get them both over this very soon. The jersey heifer STILL hasn't calved. I can not believe how she looks and hasn't started. She's holding her calf hostage. Give it up already! I need to get back to moving! I guess I should be more patient. I can't leave now because of the tax apt. 🤦‍♀️Wouldn't make it back in time.
Went to a wild game fundraiser last night at a friends church. It was a lot of fun. Got to hang out with the dairy crew. Held the new baby. He's already 2 month old already. He slept in my arms for over an hour. I about died. He is so precious. Such a blessing. Food was eh but the company was a lot of fun. The other dairy kids are such a joy to be around too. I'm not a big "kids" person but I truly enjoy those kids. They are being raised like we were. They are caring, respectful and helpful. And they do it on their own for the most part. They are still kids but even at 2 years old the now 2nd youngest is already trying to help move cows and milk. It's so fun to watch them growing up. I'm truly going to miss them.
Enjoying my first cup of coffee for the day. Have a whopper headache. I don't normally get allergies but I think something is getting me right now. My sinuses are plugged and occasionally running. Don't feel sick so thinking maybe I've developed allergies. Hoping coffee will help a bit. Need to go out and see why one of the hotwire's is down. Probably a dairy cow did something silly. Putting it off to drink coffee and watch the weather live stream.
It's currently 90* outside. Crazy weather. Grass is looking like it wants to start dying already. That was quick. Hard to believe it's storming at home yet a heat wave here. 😂 DH should be up soon. Glad he's slept this long. Weekends over. Time to get back to the grind.
Everyone in the path of these storms please stay safe! If anyone is in a path of a tornado and can post safely from their shelter please do and we'll pray for you.
Y'all have a fantastic evening/night! :hugs

Last night I made sure alarms were off, wanted to sleep in. So much for that -- 5am I'm wide awake. Probably "waiting for the buzzer" 😵‍💫. Suggesting a big storm today. Poss tornado, definitely very high winds. Great! 😖 Planned to stay home today after such heavy work hours last week. Now weather is screwy. Still staying home!

Better refill my cup. Better load up barn hay before noon. Sounds like it'll be appreciated by me & goats.🤔
