You know, the apptm is wed and there's today thru Tues to prep. I'd take a couple slow rides with Boone in truck, on that bastardly dirt road! Load up, drive slow, go 5-6 miles turn & go home. Try it each day. It would help retrain his anxiety a little for the longer ride with a gentle exposure each day. 🤷🤞

It would help you, too, if he could calm down again.

Good idea!

Things I have observed you cannot do with a “y” chromosome
1 soak dirty pots or pans so food doesn’t cement itself to become a part of it
2. Wash pots and pans and /or dishes, silverware, etc.
3. Dishes, silverware only land in dishwasher 60% of the time
4. Put away pots and oans, even if you can see where they go because all of them hang up off of the stove hood
5. empty dishwasher of clean dishes
6. Wipe down counters
7. Wipe down stove
8. Throw empty bags, baggies, boxes, paper towels in trash

It’s the weirdest thing!
But after spending an entire day in bed because of unmanageable pain, you can count on having a sinkful of dirty dishes to greet you in the morning 😂
Gotta love consistency

But he brought me a rose after he fed this morning, so I will be grateful. It beats having no one to leave me dirty dishes…

I have worked with Buford sporadically, riding in the truck. I take him maybe 10 miles, get out, walk around, sniff, pee, back in truck. He finally, for the first time, was not trembling and drooling. He sniffed out the window, wagging his tail! I kept up a steady sweet talking and heaped praise on him.

I’m trying to get him ready for sperm collection. When the vet reached for his privates, he wasn’t having it and growled menacingly. So I’ve been working on that too. The look on his face the first time I reached for his ding ding was priceless.
MOM! NOOOOOO!!
So now I tell him, “ Let me see your ding ding”. And I give him a massage. Yeah, I’m a pervert. The things we do with our animals.

Eric has been telling me about a side by side breeding. That’s where the female is given a shot to bring her into heat. They know to the exact day when she will accept a male. So the vet and assistant park the dogs with nose to tail, collect the male, AI the female.
Why? Because the dogs are very valuable and breeders don’t want to leave a female in a strange place where she might be injured or escape. Some females will attack the male and injure him.

So that’s why I’ve been working with Buford, so he won’t freak out riding in the truck and so he won’t bite the vet, for playing with his ding ding. They gave me 3 plastic collection sleeves. I guess my next trick is …….. ahem, doing you know what to Buford.

Gee, I need to copy this and post it to Buford’s journal! BWAHAHAHA
