My daughter’s van shuts off when stopped, then restarts. We borrowed it one time and thought we killed it at a red light. PANIC!

I don’t know if your daughter’s car has the option, but my husband’s F150 does, where he was able to turn that off. Before he turned it off, we were starting to get used to it. But it was a little disconcerting, especially when it did it at stop signs.
Having grown up with and having many of my driving years with beaters and less than reliable vehicles, I will always have a tiny background apprehension about the car’s ability to turn itself back on.

Yeah, I was the Queen of Clunkers myself. BJ bought me a new car after my 20+ car died one morning on the railroad tracks. I got it started and made it to work. He took my keys and came back later with a new car. Thoughtful! But I still had to make the payment. It took 2 weeks for me to get happy about it.
