Coffee anyone ?

Coffee is ready! Going to light 2 burn piles this morning. Winds will blow at 2-10 miles per hour with gusts up to 16 MPH for the next 3 days. Normally there is too much wind for me to feel comfortable with burning. I’ll drag in this evening smoky, dirty and tired.
Remember the marshmallows as a positive reward! :D =D

Left- Canada thistle. Oft decried as the ruin of pastures by my stalwart Yankee kin.

Right- I just found this monster and a dozen of his brothers in my lower pasture. Battle is joined. (this thing is nearly 3 ft tall :ep

I use a spade and leather gloves to dig them up root and all. If I catch them in time I can shove them into a feed sack, if they're 3'-4' tall I drag just a few of them to the burn pit. I notice when I miss one it turns into 18 later in the year, then dozens if I don't get them. No round up here.

The monster thistle you showed looks like what is known as a bull thistle as opposed to the "canadian thistle"... different variety/type... usually a 2 year cycle... first year is rosette and growing... low to the ground... and you don't notice them... 2nd year they stalk and flower...

A doeling 7-10 days ago...another due mid April, then 3 in June, plus 4 full but not reg. Producers of feed $$. 👍☺️

The dairy/Boer can be reg at 50%, small fee. Only advantage is bred to full Boer I can get 75%kids. Most I won't reg as market for reg stock isn't great here. 🤷. They primarily will be kept to grow out, use in commercial if they pan out, then produce well. Milk volume helps kids grow....it's a test. The half bucklings are meat marketed. Commercials bring $. There's an auction every month.

It's like cows...as to selection and reasoning.

Warm, sunny morning here. There was fog at ground level a while ago, burned off now. Was kinda pretty with sun rising on it. Looked like steam over the fields. I slept well, had shut alarms off 👍

Will do outside things today -- warm, sunny, winds gone...possible light showers late day with "for sure" rains in morning.🙃 Better enjoy today! There's plenty to do out there, better get to it!

Morning BYH! Got some coffee and homework here before church. Hopefully going to run some errands after church, and maybe go for a run today! Pretty cold here still but that's just Wyoming. Y'all have a wonderful Sunday!
